The not-so-secret key to career success is supposed to be “showing up.” That may not be totally accurate; there are a plethora of elements outside our control that influence our final fate. No matter what your specific objectives are, none of them will be realized until you put in some effort. Trainers like myself would be out of a job if simply turning up was all it required to be in shape. People would not be dissatisfied by their lack of development, everyone with a gym membership would be ripped like a Marvel superhero, and no one would ever question whether working out is a waste of time. If you’ve been going to the gym on a regular basis but haven’t seen any progress, it’s time to mix things up.
