Is optimism the secret to a long and happy life?

According to a recent study, optimism is consistently connected with longer life and general well-being. Optimism does not need an always upbeat disposition or the donning of rose-colored spectacles. Optimists anticipate good things will occur and feel that although unpleasant events do occur, they do not outweigh the positive ones. A previous study has similarly connected optimism to an increased likelihood of obtaining an “extraordinary lifespan.” Regardless of their origin, those who are optimistic are more likely to live longer, according to new research.

The research’s most optimistic women had an average of 5.4% greater life expectancy. Researchers monitored the ladies for up to 26 years and conducted lifestyle surveys with them.
