Relive the unveiling of the ‘Killer Egg’ machine gun mount.
The MH-6 machine gun mount made its premiere in front of SOFIC attendees. The 160th Special Operations Air Regiment used an aircraft affectionately dubbed the “Killer Egg” above Tampa Bay throughout the demonstration. The personnel plank has created by Dillon Aero, a company located in Arizona. The installation was designed to provide a 7.62x51mm or giant machine gun stability: The MH-6 Little Bird is converted into either an AH-6 light attack configuration or a troop transport configuration.
With a fixed machine gun mount, they would be able to offer additional fire support in a relatively compact size: This was one of the hottest subjects at this year’s SOFIC, along with the U.S. Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) plan for future modifications to the kind.
