Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.) served with the 82nd Airborne Division and earned a Bronze Star as a lieutenant during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He then served two more combat tours in Afghanistan with the 75th Ranger Regiment. Crow was in the House chamber when pro-Trump rioters entered the building and members were trapped in the on the floor for 20 minutes. He began locking doors, moving lawmakers away from the doors, and having them remove pins and identifiable aspects from their persons. Crow also coordinated with the capital police to find a way out and assisted others with their masks. When being evacuated, he “brought up the rear to ensure all the members made it to safety.”
