A group of young Ukrainians is gathering their shovels to clear up the battlefield debris in Yahidne, in northern Ukraine. Repair Together, a youth organization in Ukraine, has organized “clean-up raves.” One of the seven founders of Rebuild Together, Tania Burianova, said that recognizing the major issues means “wanting to help these individuals” who are in need. The 26-year-old used to spend a lot of time at techno raves, but because they can no longer attend festivals and parties, they have chosen to incorporate techno into their clean-up instead. Before the war, according to Darka, 22, she could “go out every weekend” and attend raves that lasted from Friday night to Monday morning. She was eager to participate nevertheless after witnessing the war’s wreckage and learning about “this fantastic idea of a rebuilding initiative.”
