Switchblade is the most innovative drone to hit the market since the Predator.
Due to its assault strategy of flying into a target and detonating its explosive payload, the media have dubbed AeroVironment’s Switchblade a kamikaze drone. Additionally, it may be diverted to a secondary target or self-destruct to avoid collateral damage if circumstances change after it is launched. Since 2012, the United States Marine Corps has deployed over 4,000 Switchblade drones to Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2020, a new version of the Switchblade was introduced with an anti-tank warhead based on the capabilities of the Javelin.
Ukraine is preparing to become the first country outside the United States to use drones in battle. According to reports, the military assistance package shipped to Ukraine would include both the 300 and 600 variants.
