The trophy that the Space Force esports team won after taking first place in the second Call of Duty Endowment video game tournament was sent on a three-hour flight above the planet’s atmosphere earlier this year.
The award was launched into orbit earlier this year thanks to a deal CODE signed with a private company based in the UK. The base of the trophy was inscribed with the phrase “come and get it,” which has been used by troops and sports teams throughout history. The endowment just unveiled a new advertising film prior to its third CODE Bowl on December 16 in Raleigh, North Carolina, which included footage of the trophy in space. The Space Force has held the title for the past two years, and the guardians want to make it three straights.
