Our military culture and expectations demand unyielding criteria, and there is little  room for human weakness, particularly among SOF and those in leadership positions. Help will stay out of grasp for many unless  we change our way of life and take a new approach to mental health. The White House and Department of Defense have acknowledged the military and veteran suicide problem, which is a good start, but we need to adjust our approach to this issue.  As the wars draw to an end and servicemembers struggle to adjust to a new and sometimes alien civilian life, the issue  is certain to worsen. Too many people continue to suffer in silence, having been harmed by decades of combat, collapsing  home fronts, despair,  remorse, and humiliation that come with being a warrior
