The Special Operations Forces (SOF) have successfully deployed mortars and attacked Russian occupiers in cooperation with infantry on the Zaporizhzhia front. The mission aimed to destroy the enemy’s positions and equipment, and one group went to the “grey zone” to attack the enemy under their nose, while the other provided cover and fired on other enemy positions. The SOF used 120-mm mortars to hit the targets, including a Russian armored personnel carrier and a platoon stronghold, with fire adjusted from reconnaissance drones. The Russians later opened fire on Ukrainian soldiers, but the mortar crews withdrew from their positions in time. The timeframe of the operation is undisclosed.
