Special forces killed a senior ISIS leader during a covert military raid around midnight.
It has been revealed that US special forces carried out a midnight operation in the middle of Syria where they killed a senior ISIS leader and captured others. US special forces reportedly killed one person and captured another in the government-held village of Muluk Saray in the northeastern province of Hasakeh, according to Syrian state media. The operation was conducted on Thursday in a region of the Hassakeh province that is divided between government forces and Kurdish militants with US support. The Islamic State group has been the focus of prior American attacks in Syria, but Thursday’s operation would mark the first known raid in a government-controlled region.
