On the eve of the New Year, the Special Forces of Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East ambushed suspected Boko Haram crossing points along Maiduguri-Damboa Road in Borno State, killing six combatants.
Six motorcycles, three AK47 weapons, and a machine gun were among the items found following the attack. Close to Maiduguri, the State capital, it was learned that the members of the 199th Special Forces Battalion, working on reliable intelligence and in cooperation with the Civilian Joint Task Force, successfully carried out an ambush. Six of the terrorists were quickly gunned down in the ensuing shootout, while others managed to flee with gunshot wounds, according to Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counterinsurgency expert in the Lake Chad.
