52 Starlink satellites are launched to orbit by SpaceX’s Falcon 9. It was the 62nd mission, especially for Starlink and the 181st launch overall SpaceX.
On schedule, SpaceX launched the second pair of its Starlink internet-beaming satellites on Saturday night from Florida. At 7:32 p.m. EDT, the 230-foot Falcon rocket launched for the 42nd launch from the Space Coast from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Launch Complex 40. Beginning early in the following year, SpaceX will launch Starlink Version 2 (v2) satellites, which will be substantially larger and more potent than the current edition. The company’s Saturday launch set a new record for liftoffs in a calendar year with its 43rd orbital mission of 2022. 31 launches had previously been the company’s record which was attained in 2021
