Some Russian troops reportedly withdraw from Ukraine border area | NPR

Must Read

Following months of tension and rumors that Russia was preparing a multi-front onslaught towards Ukraine in early 2022, press sources indicate that hundreds of Russian servicemen are heading to their “regular assignment sites” on the Ukrainian border.

The military relocation, however, appears to be a small part of the estimated 70,000 to 100,000 Russian soldiers deployed along the border. Meanwhile, on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a video conversation with 20 US lawmakers and legislators to voice worry over Russia’s military moves and long-standing issues in the nation’s eastern Donbas area, where Kremlin-backed separatists have been battling since 2014.
