According to Emmanuel Umar, the state commissioner for internal security and humanitarian affairs, joint security forces in Niger State have freed 13 individuals who had been kidnapped by roving bandits in the state. He made the announcement yesterday in Minna.
The accomplishment, according to him, was made possible by the ongoing security clearance operation against terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes in the state. The success, the commissioner continued, came as a result of a tip that some wandering bandits had been seen in the Bonus, Gwalu, and Chimbi districts of the Gurara and Paikoro LGAs. Nine of those saved, according to him, were kidnapped from Maje Daji via the Federal Capital Territory’s Dobi Gwagwalada Area Council.
