The British special forces raid that killed two young parents and seriously injured their infant sons in Afghanistan in 2012 was not reported to the authorities at the time, and it has never been looked into.
On August 6, 2012, British soldiers allegedly shot and killed Hussain Uzbakza and his wife Ruqqia. Imran, age three, and his younger brother Bilal, age one year, suffered injuries in the attack. The event in Shesh Aba, Nimruz province, was not reported to the Royal Military Police (RMP) at the time. The RMP is now looking into the incident “as a direct result” of questions made by the BBC show Panorama. The raid’s participation by British forces and the completion of a Serious Incident Review (SIR) were both acknowledged by the Ministry of Defense (MoD).
