Biden was “speaking from his heart” after viewing pictures on television of a terrible dictator’s savage conduct during his invasion of a foreign nation, according to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki at the time.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry summoned US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan in response to President Joe Biden’s recent statements describing Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “war criminal” for Moscow’s unjustified invasion of Ukraine. The ministry claimed in a statement on March 21 that it had made a démarche and delivered Sullivan a letter of complaint in response to Joe Biden’s recent reprehensible statements against Russian President Vladimir Putin. In an interview with journalists on March 16, Biden referred to Putin as a “war criminal.” He called Putin a “pure thug” and a “murderous dictator” a day later, but he did not acknowledge the “war criminal” charge. Several civilian targets, including clinics, universities, apartment complexes, and other municipal institutions, have been targeted by Russian air raids since Putin initiated the large-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
