The United States will not attack Russian aircraft while Syrian soldiers murder people.

On Wednesday, Russian aircraft attacked the al-Tanf camp in Syria, where American troops are stationed. Russia alerted the United States before the attack, stating it would target troops hostile to Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. No American soldiers were there, but it was one of many near encounters in June. This year has seen multiple skirmishes between Western and Russian troops, including the bombardment of al-Tanf. Russia views the United States’ presence in the nation as unlawful and has demanded that American soldiers withdraw from al-tank.

In February 2018, American soldiers engaged in combat with Russian mercenaries from Wagner Group and pro-regime forces. 30 Americans, aided by air assistance, eliminated about 300 of the 500 opposing combatants.
