Prisoner released by Russia ‘treated worse than a dog’ | BBC

10 prisoners were released from Russian captivity after Saudi Arabia brokered a deal between Russia and Ukraine.

Among the detainee’s were 5 British citizens, Aiden Aslin, John Harding, Dylan Healy, Andrew Hill and Shaun Pinner. Aiden Aslin, a Ukrainian Marine and former YPG soldier has told the press that the Russians had treated them “worse than dogs.” Aiden shared multiple details regarding his months-long captivity. Including the fact that he was stabbed in the back by a guard, and then asked if he wanted a “quick death or beautiful death.” When he responded with a” quick death,” the Russian replied “You’re going to have a beautiful death and I’m going to make sure it’s a beautiful death.” Aiden also mentioned he was beaten because of his tattoo’s. Which shows the Ukrainian Trident and other symbolism of his time in Syria. He described that four men were forced to sleep on lice infested mats in a two man cell, and had to routinely beg for food and water.
