A French journalist is slain as government troops shut in on insurgents in eastern Ukraine.
Frederic Leclerc-Imhoff was killed by shelling in the Luhansk area of Ukraine. He was traveling in a vehicle near the city of Sievierodonetsk that was being utilized to evacuate residents. Governor Serhiy Haidai said that a journalist was killed when a Russian shell fragment struck a bus which was evacuating citizens from areas with risk of conflict. France demands a probe and asserts that targeting a relief convoy and a journalist is a double offense.
