Afghanistan: Pakistan’s frontiers are surrounded by hostile neighbors.
Before the last year, Pakistan’s thinking was predicated on a Taliban-controlled Afghanistan that would provide it with strategic depth and marginalize India. According to sources, terrorist organizations headquartered in Pakistan operate training camps in Afghanistan, and several of these organizations have launched strikes against India.
However, the Taliban’s ascendance to power in Kabul has not made Pakistan secure. There has been an increase in terrorist assaults, especially suicide bombers, launched from Afghanistan against Pakistan. Since the Taliban took control in Afghanistan, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been encouraged to conduct more than 124 terrorist acts in Pakistan.
Relations between Kabul and Islamabad have been mostly strained due to the contentious boundary or Durand Line that separates the Pashtun population on both sides. Pakistan should make every effort to install a friendly administration in Afghanistan to prevent a nightmare situation with hostile neighbors on both sides. Afghanistan has a severe lack of food, medication, clothes, and other necessities and the existence of several terrorist organizations.
