U.S. naval special warfare soldiers have been sent there. On December 22, Special Operations Command Pacific and the Indian Navy Marine Commando Force completed a joint training exercise.
The two forces’ long-standing partnership and joint marine capabilities were strengthened during the three-week exchange. In addition to tactical weapon training, close-quarters combat drills, military free-fall evolutions, helicopter insertions, and maritime boat operations were all part of the exercise. American special operations forces are able to react quickly to emergencies in the Indo-Pacific. A forward-deployed posture and ongoing interaction with partner and ally troops, which improves mutual interoperability and local knowledge, are essential to this capability.
