Last Wednesday, South Korean President Moon Jae-in was scheduled to attend a rail line groundbreaking ceremony. North Korea fired a ballistic missile, according to the United States, only hours before the South Korean President was to attend the event. At 8:10 a.m., the launch occurred. South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) announced that a missile was launched from an inland position on the east coast into the sea around 2310 GMT. Furthermore, the United States of America criticized it while also calling for a resumption of talks with North Korea.
