Ali Tekbali, a member of the Libyan parliament, stated on Friday night that American soldiers captured a retired Libyan intelligence officer in the Wadi Kaam region to the west of Zliten.
The retired intelligence brigadier general, Mohamed Awad, was taken hostage and put on an American plane in Wadi Kaam, according to a tweet from Tekbali. The parliamentarian continued, referring to the kidnapping of citizen Abu Agila Masud and extradition to the US for alleged involvement in the Lockerbie bombing case: “It seems that the narrative is bigger than Lockerbie.” The deputy added that the Special Missions Unit of the US Special Forces SEAL used two V-22 Osprey helicopters to carry out the landing mission after midnight.
