Israeli intelligence agency Mossad assisted Greek authorities in foiling a planned attack by two Pakistani terrorists against Jewish and Israeli targets in Greece. Mossad reported that the two terrorists arrested in Athens were part of a broader Iranian network that operates from Iran and other countries. The investigation revealed that the Pakistani terrorists were planning to carry out the attack against a Jewish restaurant that also functioned as a synagogue in Athens. The European Jewish Congress thanked Greek authorities for swiftly dealing with the planned attack. The Israeli Foreign Minister also expressed gratitude to the Greek government and intelligence services for thwarting the terrorist attack.
