More Food Shortages After Omicron Hits Stores From U.S. to Australia | Bloomberg

Must Read

When the COVID-19 epidemic broke out, food scarcity became a global issue. Today, as the Omicron form spreads rapidly, food scarcity has resurfaced, particularly in Australia and the United States. Supply constraints are especially significant in New South Wales, Australia’s most populous east coast state, which contains Sydney. On Friday, the state recorded a total of 38,625 new cases, which is a new high. This is an increase from daily numbers of less than 500 in early December. SpartanNash, a supermarket distributor in the United States, stated it has grown more difficult to obtain supply from food producers, particularly processed foods such as cereal and soup.
