Miss Colorado is an active duty soldier who wants to end veteran suicide | Military Times

Must Read

Spc. Maura Spencer-Carroll, an active US Army, has won the Miss Colorado title, allowing her to join Miss America last year. Carroll is a 35F all-source intelligence analyst with the 4th Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team, based in Fort Carson, Colorado. She was the very first service member to win Miss Colorado in the state’s history. Spence-Carroll would have been the first active service soldier to win Miss America in 2021 if she had succeeded. Spence-Carroll is associated with a charity organization called 22 Too Many: Ending The Epidemic of Military and Veteran Suicide, and she is enthusiastic about mental health awareness, according to her.
