According to the Israeli corporation that produces the system, the Marine Corps and Navy will test an advanced fire control system that analyzes how soldiers can best reach their target as part of a continuous effort to fight against enemy drones on land and at sea. The SMASH Fire Control System, which can be attached to any type of military weapon, is made by Smart Shooter Ltd. According to the Smart Shooter press release, the US Naval Surface Warfare Center’s Crane Division will also explore whether SMASH technology can be used to shoot down drones.
