On Memorial Day, local CrossFit athletes throughout the country will take on the arduous “Murph Challenge” workout in honor of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy, who lost his life in Afghanistan.
Local CrossFit athletes across the country pay tribute to Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy, who lost his life in Afghanistan in 2005, by participating in the Memorial Day ‘Murph Challenge’ workout. The workout, named after Lt. Murphy, involves a grueling routine that consists of a one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another one-mile run. This challenging workout serves as a way for the CrossFit community to honor the sacrifices made by military personnel. Participants push themselves to their limits, displaying their dedication and respect for Lt. Murphy and all fallen soldiers. The Murph Challenge has become a tradition on Memorial Day, fostering a sense of camaraderie and remembrance within the local CrossFit communities nationwide.
