A federal complaint has been filed on behalf of scores of US Navy SEALs requesting religious exemptions from the Defense Department’s (DOD) vaccination requirement, alleging that the military is intruding on military members’ First Amendment rights and pressuring them to acquire the COVID-19 vaccine. The First Liberty Institute is suing the military on behalf of about 35 active-duty SEALs and three reservists, alleging that the military is infringing on their constitutional rights. According to the lawsuit, which Fox News received first, the SEALs involved are all members of various Christian faiths who oppose the vaccine mandate because of “their sincerely held religious views.”
