Israeli security forces have arrested the father and brother of Mo’taz Khawaja, the Palestinian terrorist who carried out a shooting attack on Tel Aviv’s Dizengoff Street on Thursday night.
The two were reportedly arrested in the West Bank village of Ni’lin and transferred to the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) for interrogation. Khawaja, who was a Hamas operative, was also in Israeli prison twice for holding illegal weapons. Two other men have been arrested in connection with the attack, including a resident of Ksayfe who is suspected of involvement in the driving operation. Israeli troops have entered Ni’lin to map out Khawaja’s home in preparation for its demolition, following calls by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for its immediate destruction. Three people were seriously wounded in the Tel Aviv attack.
