the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announcing they are adding 14 battalions and combat soldiers from special forces units.
In just one week 11 people have been killed by terror attacks in Israel. The attacks stretched along three separate towns and cities, leading to the deadliest week seen in years.
Tensions have been rising in the West Bank and Jerusalem over the last few weeks, multiple stabbings of Israelis have happened in the nation’s capital, while Palestinians have been shot in the west bank during recent demonstrations. The security situation has continued to escalate and see’s no end. While past attacks have targeted police and military, two of three attacks in the past week have targeted the civilian population. Troops presence has increased throughout the streets, and the IDF has announced they are adding 14 battalions and combat soldiers from special forces units. Soldiers will also be required to take their weapons with them when off duty. Civilians with firearm permits are being told to carry their arms with them. The Israeli government announced that if there was ever a time for civilians to be armed, it is now.
