Every month, week, or even day, EMS organizations, large and small, get innumerable boxes of supplies, drugs, and other disposable products. While certain expiry dates are unavoidable, which isn’t always a negative thing, it does prompt us to consider whether our logistics process is effective. What can we do if this isn’t the case? Minimizing waste requires efficiency. Yes, some prescriptions and equipment items may approach their expiration dates, but by maintaining a more flexible and adaptive system in place, you’ll be far more likely to decrease the amount lost.
