Iran’s Quest for Soleimani’s Revenge Goes to Latin America | Real Clear Defense

After the strike that killed Iran’s most senior general, Qassem Soleimani, in Baghdad in 2020, both Iran and Hezbollah promised they would avenge his death. Neither of the groups have meaningfully struck back but there have been plots uncovered in Kenya and Colombia of suspected terrorist plots targeting Israelis and US officials. Iran has a strong presence in South America, especially in Venezuela, there is no sign of the cessation of these attacks.
