Former US Army Special Forces Sniper Selected the World’s Finest Sniper Rifles

Several aspects are involved in the production of sniper rifles, and they have changed over time. During World War II, the fighters used infantry rifles with scopes that were either modern or obsolete. As time passed, militaries throughout the globe started inventing and manufacturing sniper rifles. Here are the top sniper systems as selected by an Ex-US Army Special  Forces Soldier, Steve Balestrieri:

McMillan TAC-50

  • The McMillan TAC 50 fired the longest sniper shot in recorded history. A member of the Canadian Special Forces used it to kill an ISIS fighter at a distance of 3,540 meters, or 2.2 miles. The weapon was created in the 1980s and is used by various nations owing to its precision. The 12.799 mm cartridge is fired by this precision anti-material weapon.

M24SWS (Sniper Weapon System), M40A6

  • The M24 SWS and M40A6 of the Army and Marine Corps were based on the Remington 700. The M-24 superseded the M21 and entered service in 1988. The A1 and A3 versions use a 5-round detachable box magazine, while the A2 has a 10-round magazine. The USMC M40 employs the short-action variant of the Remington 700/40x for ammunition with a length of 2.750 inches or less (69.85 mm).

Accuracy International L115A3:

  • Malcolm Cooper, a British Olympic gold medalist in shooting, and Accuracy International created the weapon. In 2009, Craig Harrison, a British Corporal of Horse, killed two Taliban machine gunners at a distance of 2,700 meters. In 2013, a British sniper killed six Taliban with a single shot during combat involving around twenty Taliban. The weapon is chambered in.338 Lapua for the UK forces, while other countries use it.300 Winchester Magnum.

Barrett M82/M107 .50 Caliber:

  • Barrett Firearms Manufacturing invented and manufactured the Barrett M82 semi-automatic anti-material rifle in 1982. The weapon features a detachable 10-round magazine and Picatinny rails and is often mounted with Leupold Mark IV telescopic sights. Two barrel lengths, 20 and 29 inches, are fluted and contain a massive muzzle brake that increases heat dissipation, decreases weight, and mitigates recoil.

Barrett Mark 22 MRAD:

  • This latest sniper system is the greatest for a new weapon. In 2016, the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) released specifications for a new precision sniper weapon. Three barrels were supplied with the MK22: 7.62x51mm,.300 Norma Magnum, and.338 Norma Magnum. The SOCOM, Army, and Marine Corps are all ordering the most recent Barrett. The Mk22 is highly sophisticated and incredibly accurate, and the shooter may simply change the draw weight of the trigger, tweak the manual safety for right- or left-handed operation, stretch the stock and cheek rest to a chosen, comfortable position, and compress the buttstock.
