Husband and wife open a tiny brewery with massive flavor | ABC13

Must Read

In order to establish a distinctive, inclusive brewery, Steve and Melissa Mendez, a husband and wife partnership, founded Project Halo Brewing in Fulshear, Texas.

While Steve was serving in the Army and stationed in the Pacific Northwest, the couple began brewing. Steve served in the Special Forces and was stationed all over the globe. The family opted to relocate to Texas, where Steve and Melissa were raised, when Steve left the Army in order to pursue their ambition of opening a brewery. Melissa’s leadership as chief brewer is essential to Project Halo’s success. Steve remarked, “I continually have to tell people that they are speaking to me, but I have no idea how that beer is manufactured; I only know how to consume the drinks. I must thus direct them to the brew queen, who is the top brewer. In order to encourage women working in the craft brewing business, Melissa is an active member of the Pink Boots Society. FM359 in Fulshear is where you’ll discover Project Halo Brewing.
