A platoon of US Navy SEALs arrived in Croatia in 2022 to conduct training exercises with the nation’s naval special operations force.
US Navy SEALs train new special operations units in new missions and skill sets through these training deployments. Major “Marko,” commander of the ZSS, elaborated on the joint training with the US SEALs, stating in a NATO press release that competency in maritime special operations is crucial given that about 70% of the earth is covered by water. Marko declared, “The water will turn into our playground. Several missions and skill sets were practiced during the combined training, which was primarily conducted near the Adriatic Sea. Long underwater swims were performed by the frogmen, bridges were taken by infiltrating from the water, and covert landings on enemy beaches were practiced.
