In the previous administration, the Department of Veteran Affairs (V.A.) hasn’t been in really good shape, considering the lots of heavy responsibilities it handled. Specifically, VA has been the one responsible for serving the veterans affected by the global pandemic, confronted natural disasters, served as the country’s backup health-care system, etc. With this, the new administration is challenged to bring back veterans and V.A. employees’ trust. This is possible by hearing and valuing their talents, recognizing the extraordinary diversity of the veteran population, and recognizing toxic exposure as a cost of war.
