This week, “Doctor Delirium and the Edgewood Experiments” premieres on Discovery+. The documentary examines medical experiments undertaken in Maryland for two decades. Thousands of troops were exploited as test subjects while being administered a range of chemicals deliberately and unwittingly. The participants were given a wide variety of drugs, including PCP, LSD and BZ, and examined on whether they could function or fight. BZ was finally weaponized, but it was never used in battle, and all stocks were destroyed after the Cold War.
