Jobless employment, or the phenomenon of employees having little to no work to do, often stems from poor management and is exacerbated by factors like outdated job roles and remote work, leading to conflicting feelings among workers and a lack of productivity. 

Many employees in the corporate world find themselves with very little work to do, leading to a phenomenon known as “jobless employment.” These individuals, often referred to as “funemployed,” spend their days at work without much purpose or productivity. Some feel conflicted about their situation, recognizing that it may harm their careers but lacking motivation to change it. The lack of work is often attributed to poor management, with bosses being either oblivious or non-confrontational about the issue. Additionally, factors such as outdated job roles, excessive risk aversion, and the advent of remote work contribute to the prevalence of jobless employment. While some employees feel guilty or bored, others take advantage of the situation and find ways to entertain themselves during work hours.
