Authorities in Honduras Arrest a Suspected Leader of a Drug Trafficking Cartel
Herlinda Bobadilla, alias La Chinda, is suspected of controlling a narcotrafficking gang along the coast of the Caribbean in Honduras. One of her sons was killed in a confrontation, while the other is still at large. The United States Department of State offered up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of this criminal organization. The Montes Bobadilla expanded their activities in the Caribbean department of Colón, an essential stopover for cocaine going through Central America. Misael Rivas Soriano said, “Her links to her family group do not guarantee their dominance over the criminal gang.” Honduras is an important transit site for Colombian narcotrafficking.
