Idaho’s Magic Valley Paramedics Special Operations Rescue Team was founded in 2009 and is based in the Twin Falls metropolitan region.
Idaho’s Perrine Bridge is possibly the most open and uncontrolled BASE jumping paradise in the United States. The Magic Valley SORT technical rescue squad is considered one of the finest in the country. 90% of their rescues occur within a mile or two of the bridge on either side. In 2016, the squad completed 56 savings over almost two months, one every day. Idaho’s Magic Valley Paramedics Special Operations Rescue Team was founded in 2010 due to a regional shortage of rope rescue teams.
The majority of the squad are already fully licensed flight paramedics, and they react to emergencies by helicopter. The team is available to any paramedic, but only after a newcomer has attended training sessions independently for a year.
