Head of US Special Operations Command has COVID-19 | ABC

The head of SOCOM, Gen. Richard D. Clarke has contracted Covid and is apparently experiencing mild symptoms. The command announced Monday that Clarke had tested positive and is continuing to work remotely.

Clarke and Col. Kurt Kellogg, his spokesperson said Clarke hasn’t been in the physical presence of any senior Defense Department leaders or other members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Clarke is the latest member of the Joint Staff to get the virus, Army Gen. Mark Milley, the Marine commandant, Gen. David Berger, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also had the virus earlier this month.
