Notwithstanding concerns raised by the Hellenic Air Force, Greece intends to purchase 24+11 UH-60M Blackhawk helicopters from the United States for its army aviation and special warfare command.Â
The Greek government is set to purchase 24+11 new UH-60M Blackhawk helicopters from the United States for its army aviation and special warfare command. However, the Hellenic Air Force has expressed reservations about the final choice, recommending that all possible options, whether American or European, should be considered. The Air Force and Special Operations Command, on the other hand, did not conduct market research and directly chose the UH-60M Blackhawk helicopter solution. If the deal goes through, this will be the first purchase of the UH-60M Blackhawk for Greece. The helicopter can be armed with various weapons, including machine guns, miniguns, gatling guns, unguided rockets, laser-guided air-to-ground missiles, and heat-seeking air-to-air missiles.Â
