According to American authorities, two of FTX founder Sam Bankman-coworkers Fried’s have admitted guilty to charges of fraud in connection with the demise of the cryptocurrency exchange.
Gary Wang, a co-founder of FTX, and Caroline Ellison, a former chief executive of Alameda Research, have pleaded guilty to the charges and have agreed to assist law enforcement in their ongoing investigations, according to a statement released late on Wednesday by the US attorney for New York’s Southern District, Damian Williams. Williams indicated that the announcement would not be the last his agency makes in relation to its investigation into FTX, although he did not say what crimes Wang and Ellison pleaded guilty to.
