From Military Officer To Entrepreneur: How GetGo’s Founder, Toh Ting Feng, Took A Structured Approach To Entrepreneurship | Yahoo

GetGo, which debuted in February 2021 during the pandemic, has expanded to become the biggest Point A-to-A carsharing service in Singapore.

Growing and scaling a firm is not an easy endeavor, but co-founder Ting Feng handled it with ease, going from an initial team of 10 to the present employee strength of 130. Ting Feng was surrounded by both automobiles and business owners as a child. His father was a first-generation business owner; he had quit high school and launched his own used automobile trading company. It might come as a surprise to learn that Ting Feng decided against pursuing entrepreneurship after junior college and instead enlisted in the military. After accepting a SAF scholarship, he was supported for four years of study in the US before serving seven years in the military and MINDEF. It is difficult to leave a secure and promising career behind after seven years in the service. After choosing to leave the SAF, he thought about contributing to the expansion of the family firm or launch his own, but eventually opted to enter the private sector of entrepreneurship instead.
