Must Read

This Thursday, Col. Jason Johnston transferred leadership of the group’s 2,400 men to Col. John D. Bishop. Due to operational circumstances, a conventional change of command ceremony was not organized.

The 3rd Special Forces Group personnel are constantly deployed to assist operations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia. Bishop is familiar with the organization, having previously served as its deputy commander. He was also the previous detachment leader for Staff Sergeant Robby Miller, a Medal of Honor winner.
