A former Afghan special force, Abdul Wasi Safi, “needs rapid medical assistance at the US border. “He was bleeding from his ears and is in excruciating pain,” his attorney, Sara Blame Morgan, tweeted on January 8th.
He was compelled to depart his hometown as the regime shifted and Afghanistan fell. He had already traveled to South America and was making his way north, trying to seek legal asylum in the United States. When he arrived in the United States, he was apprehended by border patrol authorities and has been confined in a detention facility on the United States-Mexico border since September, according to Storyteller SBM. He was guaranteed safety from the present leadership, but “he now risked deportation back to Afghanistan,” according to the report.
