According to Bob Morrison, another prospective UK GSUP (General Service Utility Platform) competitor was the Ford Ranger, which was on display at the DVD 2022 defense expo.
We can only assume that Ford is recommending a militarized version of this pick-up truck until specifics about which suppliers UK MoD is inviting to tender for the GSUP requirement and specific vehicle models the selected companies are putting forward for trials are made public. The vehicles displayed by Ford’s European sales team on the Millbrook Proving Ground at DVD 2022 were of the latest T6.2 design and they were painted in civilian colors. Ford provides the T6 Ranger in three distinct engines and/or trim level versions: RAPTOR, WILDTRAK, and XLT. At Millbrook, the first two types were on exhibit in civilian configurations. The Ford Ranger, based on the T6 XLT version, was recently adopted by the Polish Armed Forces; the first examples were shown during MSPO 2021, and a few vehicles now in use were presented at MSPO 2022.
