Air Force Special Operations Command was the most deployed MAJCOM in the Air Force since 9/11. The high tempo produced innumerable successful missions and accomplishments, but these did not come without sacrifice. Lt. Gen Jim Slife states as the group looks toward the future, there is a need to refocus on helping our Airmen become what the country will need in the coming years.
The Air Force intends to enact a new deployment model that will allow more time for Airmen to pursue personal and professional goals. Special Operations Forces Generation plans to divide deployments into four phases over 20 months, Prepare, Ready, Commit, and Reset.
