Summer is a time for teachers, leaders, and students to recuperate and release tension from the previous school year. According to an Education Week Research Center poll, 91% of teachers suffer job-related stress sometimes, often, or constantly. According to research by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, 42% of principals had pondered quitting their positions. I repeatedly told myself and my spouse that I would spend less time on the road, but I never followed through. Throughout COVID, I had the option to be at home.

Once a week, I would go to the north to see my mother, who was in her mid-eighties. My family and I were concerned about her isolation since she continued to live alone. These vows to spend more time at home were being fulfilled. Mental health and wellbeing include pursuing one’s passions while spending time with loved ones. I propose that there are two forms of de-implementation: informal and instant.
